Job description

The Governing Body proposes to elect a suitably qualified candidate to Stipendiary Lecturership in Philosophy for one year from 1 October 2013.

The Lecturer will be required to teach eight hours per week for the College.  He or she will have a broad competence in modern philosophy, including in particular the ability to teach papers 101, 102 and 103 (http://www.philosophy.ox.ac.uk/undergraduate/course_descriptions). The ability to teach the first-year Introduction to Logic (http://logic.philosophy.ox.ac.uk) may be an advantage but is not essential.  The basic stipend will be on a scale starting at £16,347 per annum (together with certain allowances).
