Instructor (EXPIRED)

Slippery Rock University invites applications for a nine-month full time temporary instructor (non-tenure track with possibility of renewal for one additional year contingent upon funding, need and performance) in the Philosophy Department beginning August 2013 contingent upon funding. 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D.in Philosophy by the time of hire is required. The candidate must demonstrate a strong grounding in the history of philosophy as well as the ability to teach medical ethics. The candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on-campus interview and teaching demonstration is also required. 

Preferred Qualifications: AOS:Open. AOC: Professional Ethics (especially Medical Ethics). College level teaching experience of introductory philosophy courses is preferred. Ability and interest in teaching Early American Thought (Federalism, Transcendentalism, Pragmatism) is preferred.
