Ohio Northern University invites applicants for two positions. 1. Assistant Professor of Philosophy, a tenure-track appointment; and 2. Assistant Professor of Philosophy, a full-time non-tenure track renewable contract appointment. 

Both positions beginning August 2022. Ph.D. is required (ABD considered).

The AOS is open, but the primary teaching responsibilities are in Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, or Epistemology. Applicants must be able and willing to regularly teach Professional Ethics and other introductory level classes, including a diversity seminar. 

The teaching load is 12 hours per semester (4 courses, 2-3 preparations). Teaching experience is desirable, and a willingness to work closely with students in a United Methodist-related institution is essential. Active research in the area of candidate’s specialization is expected, as is engagement in professional activities and service to various levels of the university. For details, visit https://www.onu.edu/academics/philosophy.

Retirement: The University contributes 4% of the regular salary with up to 3% of additional matched contributions into the TIAA Retirement Program. Other benefits include tuition remission for employee, spouse, and employee’s dependent children under the age of 25 (this does not include the last two year of the PharmD program or the JD), and twenty days of paid medical leave per year.
