Job description |
The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND invites applications for a full-time faculty position in philosophy at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2022. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. PhD is required by time of employment. Area of specialization is open, and area of competence is Ethics. We are especially looking for candidates who can offer a transformative ethics course that is grounded in the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition for our core curriculum. Applicants should be well-versed in the history of Western philosophy and the Catholic intellectual tradition. At the University of Mary, we strive to integrate Thomistic philosophy with contemporary thought, so an aptitude for bringing the insights of St. Thomas Aquinas into fruitful dialogue with other philosophical traditions would be a distinct asset. The successful candidate will join a collegial community of faculty who strive to excel in teaching, are committed to supporting formation outside of the classroom, and who have active research agendas. Opportunities for online teaching are available. Candidates are invited to share their interest in and experience with online teaching in their applications.
