Lecturer, job #17136 The School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies (SHPRS) invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible lecturer position beginning August 2022. This is a fixed-term, nine-month academic-year (August 16 – May 15) appointment with no tenure implications. Subsequent academic-year renewals are contingent upon performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the school. Areas of Specialization: Open. Areas of Competence: Applied Ethics. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching a range of undergraduate courses. The preferred candidate will be able to teach many of the following courses: bioethics, existentialism, applied ethics, environmental ethics, philosophy of sport, business and professional ethics, introduction to ethics, introduction to philosophy, and history of modern philosophy. These courses will be taught online and in-person with the majority of the load online. The teaching load is 4/4: four courses per semester, and two semesters per academic year. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include supervising teaching assistants and graders. This person will also serve the school, college, and university in capacities appropriate for the position.
