PHL 518 Professional Ethics An examination of the theories and methods used in ethical decision-making, with application to common issues in law, journalism, technology, research, education, and the health professions. LOCATIONS: Metro Detroit, MI, Multiple Michigan & US Centers, Online* REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Philosophy with graduate level coursework in the topic to be taught preferred. The experience within the discipline should be complemented by a strong applied ethics background in an area of specialization such as Legal Ethics, Philosophy of Law, Political or Social Philosophy, or Business Ethics. An ABD or masters with theoretical background might be considered if candidate has adult teaching experience and strong professional experience. To teach adult students online the candidate must have online teaching experience or be willing to successfully participate in the online training provided by CMU's Center for Instructional Design in online teaching. Local candidates are preferred for teaching assignments but qualified instructors outside local area may be considered. The University does not sponsor candidates or reimburse relocation expenses.The successful candidate will teach adult students in classes offered on alternating weekends or one night a week for eight weeks. A generous stipend is paid plus reasonable travel expenses incurred with the teaching of the course.
