Assistant Professor in Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track position to start in August 2022.3/3 load. Ph.D. in Philosophy required.AOS: Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Cognitive Science; AOC: Neuroethics, Environmental Ethics, 19th and 20th century philosophy, existentialism, and Symbolic Logic. Demonstrated teaching and advising excellence is essential, as is ongoing scholarly productivity, institutional service, and service to the discipline of philosophy. Teaching duties include introductory-level courses in ethics and logic for our Central Curriculum as well as intermediate-level and upper-level (often interdisciplinary) courses in the area of specialization. Commitment to teaching both majors and non-majors and advising undergraduates at a liberal arts college will be strongly preferred. The candidate will be expected to develop a compelling research program in their area of specialization that will engage students and actively mentor students completing capstone research projects. The successful candidate will develop connections between the Department of Philosophy and interdisciplinary programs in Neuroscience and Environmental Studies.
