Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at Denison University invites applications for two one-year Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning in August 2022. Areas of specialization are ancient philosophy, philosophy of race, or philosophy of religion. Competence in environmental philosophy is desirable. Successful candidates will be exemplary teachers and committed to active philosophical engagement with students. They will complement a small, but pluralistic department with a tradition of excellence both in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context and in active and rigorous scholarship. We are looking to diversify our faculty and curriculum and meet current teaching needs. Candidates will teach a combination of introductory courses as well as a course in an area of research interest. Candidates from historically underrepresented groups in the profession are especially encouraged to apply.
