Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Skidmore College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2022. AOS: Ancient Philosophy, AOC: Open. The teaching expectation will be 18-credit hours per year, divided among five courses (a 3-2 load). Ph.D. in philosophy is desired, although strong ABD applicants will be considered.

Requirements: Candidates should submit all materials online, including a cover letter, a current CV, graduate transcripts, evidence of effective teaching, a sample syllabus for a course in ancient philosophy, a writing sample, and three letters of reference. Review of applications will begin on March 21, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled.

Pay Range:  Commensurate with experience
