Job description: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks applicants for two adjunct instructors position beginning in Fall 2022. AOS: Engineering ethics, AOC: Open. M.A. or PhD degree in philosophy or applied ethics.

Requirements

Engineering ethics is either an optional or required course for undergraduate students in engineering disciplines at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. This course enables students to describe different ethical decision-making approaches, to analyze engineering ethics cases, to apply various ethical decision-making approaches, to recognize the ethical responsibilities of engineers, to evaluate the broader social and environmental impacts of engineering, and to develop and defend positions about issues in engineering ethics.

Instructors will develop and deliver lectures, organize in-class activities relevant to course material, prepare and grade assignments and exams to assess student achievement. Learn to use Canvas, NJIT’s online course management system. Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class. Submit grades to the registrar at the end of the semester.
