Job description

The Department of Philosophy in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy to start in August 2022.

This is a non-tenure track, standard nine-month faculty appointment, with an initial term of three years. Responsibilities include teaching six courses per year (usually two lower-level courses and one upper-level or graduate course per semester), in addition to serving on committees for M.A. theses and Ph.D. dissertations, and some departmental service.

Area of Specialization (AOS): Open, but we are particularly interested in ethics and/or political philosophy.

Area of Competence (AOC): We have particular teaching needs in applied ethics areas, including areas addressing issues of justice, race, and gender.
