Job description

The Division of Humanities at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor who will teach, advise majors, and serve in our Philosophy program. Candidates should have areas of specialization in Ethics and Political Philosophy. Areas of Competency include History of Philosophy, both Ancient and Modern, Logic, 20th Century Analytic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Literature and Philosophy. The appointee will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses (12 credit hours) each semester. The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment or be enrolled in an appropriate doctoral program and ABD. Teaching experience is required as is evidence of teaching effectiveness.  Preference will be given to candidates familiar with and working in the Analytic Philosophical tradition.

The start date for this position is August 2022.
