Job description

Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Two academic years: September 2013 thru May 2015. Six courses per year, undergraduate teaching. AOS: Open//AOC: Value Theory (Social, Political, Ethics, Aesthetics). Minimum qualifications: ABD with significant teaching experience. The Department emphasizes the history of philosophy and the lively teaching of primary texts. Also highly valued are a commitment to the goals of liberal arts education and an enthusiasm for interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and research. 

We are especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups as well as individuals who have experience with diverse populations who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Ph.D. and teaching experience preferred, but qualified ABDs will be considered.
