Job description |
Two permanent positions as Senior lecturer in Philosophy are available at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas, University of Oslo. The vacancy is a teaching position, with 75 % teaching and dissemination work, 19 % academic development work, and 6 % administration. The position is based in the Philosophy section and the persons appointed will be part of this professional environment. The teaching will primarily be related to Examen Philosophicum (Exphil) and to some extent to the Philosophy programme. The Department provides the teaching and examination of Exphil for all students enrolled in UiO´s programmes, in all around 2000 students per semester. The teaching is delivered through both large lectures and smaller seminars requiring obligatory assignments and attendance. The successful candidates should be prepared to assume administrative responsibilities, for example as members of councils and committees. Within the normal duties and academic competence, the persons appointed may also be directed to work outside their department. The appointment is made on condition that changes to the subject area and tasks may be determined by the employer. Qualification requirements PhD or equivalent academic qualifications with a specialization in Philosophy In the evaluation of the applicants, emphasis will be placed on: Pedagogical qualifications and practice, mainly from universities or higher education institutions, see How to document your pedagogical skills The successful candidate who at the time of appointment cannot document basic teaching qualifications will be required to obtain such qualifications within a two-year period. We offer salary NOK 604 700 – 702 100 per annum depending on qualifications (requires a PhD or equivalent) |
