Job description |
We wish to appoint a Research Fellow in Philosophy with interests in studying social media. Applications welcome from scholars in ethics, political/legal philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of language, and the philosophy of technology (especially AI). The post-holder will join a new multi-disciplinary research team convened by Dr Jeffrey Howard and funded by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI). The project will host an array of scholars studying the governance of speech by social-media platforms. The project seeks to synthesize philosophical, legal, social-scientific and technological expertise to provide guidance on how to understand and combat harmful content (such as hate speech and misinformation) and to improve public discourse online. |
