Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Teaching load is normally 2/2.  The department has teaching needs in the following areas: ethics, history of philosophy, business ethics, philosophy of law, philosophy of mind and neuroscience, philosophy and race, philosophy and feminism.

Duties: 

• Teaching at all levels, from introductory core courses to graduate seminars 
• Mentoring of undergraduate majors and graduate students (whether by directing PhD or MA theses or serving as a reader on examination committees) 
• Maintaining a consistent program of research and publication in philosophy 
• Serving the department, university, and profession (e.g. committee work, shared governance, editorial boards, etc.) 

 The successful applicant will: 

• Hold a PhD degree or equivalent in philosophy at the time of appointment 
• Show strong evidence of a fruitful and ongoing research agenda 
• Show strong evidence of effectiveness as a teacher 
• Demonstrate capacity for effective service 
• Be able to advance the University’s Catholic Jesuit mission
