The Institute of Philosophy and Scientific Method at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz is seeking an enthusiastic philosopher of science to join our team. An interest in the role of science in society is a must, some knowledge of economics, political economy, a social science or medicine desirable. The position is full-time, fixed-term for four years ('Graduate Teaching Assistant (Diploma/Master)' is the official title). There is a small teaching load of 2 hours per teaching week (which is roughly equivalent to 1:1). The ability to teach ethics in artificial intelligence is a plus but not essential. The ISPM, currently headed by Prof. Julian Reiss, was founded in 1971 and has been one of the leading centres for excellent research and teaching in the philosophy of science in Austria since its inception. With over 21,000 students JKU is the largest institution for education and research in upper Austria. |
