Job description |
The Philosophy Department at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey located in New Brunswick, NJ, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship. The two-year appointment will begin on September 1, 2023. Responsibilities include full-time research, collaborating with a faculty mentor to organize a research workshop on a social justice topic, co-teaching a graduate seminar, and participating in the Rutgers Summer Institute for Diversity in Philosophy. The position will have a 10-month academic year salary of $60,000, along with an annual research account of $3,750. Areas of specialization must include political or social philosophy. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in philosophy between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2023.
Application materials to include: cover letter, CV, research statement, detailed research plan for 2 year duration of fellowship, three letters of reference, and a writing sample in area of specialization. Research plan should be uploaded under “other document.” Cover letter should be addressed to hiring committee chair Professor Derrick Darby.
