Job description

The Nanyang Assistant Professorship scheme provides the opportunity for outstanding young researchers and exceptional scholars from Singapore and around the world, who aspire to a research leadership role at NTU. The selection of the NAP awards follows a rigorous academic peer-review process led by the NTU Research Council (NTURC), chaired by Professor Bengt Norden (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden and former Chair of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry). The Nanyang Assistant Professors are outstanding young faculty at NTU. They will play an important role in lifting NTU’s research to higher levels.

NTU invites outstanding early-career researchers (postdoctoral fellow or equivalent) to apply for an appointment as a Nanyang Assistant Professor.

NAP BENEFITS

  • Receive a start-up research grant of up to S$ 1 million (US$ 727K; €686K; £579K).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Early career researcher (post-doctoral fellow or equivalent) from a reputable university.

  • PhD or MD or equivalent degree in any discipline obtained within the past 10 years.

  • Strong track record for publication and relevant teaching experience.

  • Ready to lead his/her research group independently.

  • Clinician-Scientists interested in translational and/or clinical science bridging bench and bedside, clinical trials, epidemiology, digital health, health services research and/or interventional studies in any medical discipline are welcome.
