Full Professor of Philosophy (100%)
The Chair of Philosophy is attached to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) at the University of St.Gallen. The successful candidate will take up the position on 1 August 2023.

The SHSS is seeking to appoint a candidate with a research and teaching focus on cultural philosophy, social philosophy, political philosophy.
Requirements: The postholder must have completed an excellent doctoral dissertation and habilitation thesis (or provide evidence of an equivalent academic achievement). We also expect an outstanding track record in research and teaching. Other assets include experience in aca- demic self-management and success in raising external funding.

Applicants are expected to be willing to teach at the BA, MA and PhD levels, especially in the Contextual Studies Programme, which is central to the University of St.Gallen’s integrative approach. Active involvement in the interdisciplinary Master’s programme in “Management, Organisation and Culture” (MOK) and the PhD programme in “Organisation and Culture” (DOK) is desirable. The teaching load is 8 hours per week.
The University’s official language is German. The postholder is expected to acquire a working knowledge of German (B2) within two years of the appointment.
