Job description |
The Philosophy Department at The University of Houston intends to make one tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1, 2023. AOS: open; AOC: open. Because it is located in one the of the most diverse cities in the United States and has one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation, the University of Houston seeks to recruit and retain a diverse community of scholars. Qualifications: PhD completed by August 2023 and promise of excellence in research and teaching. The Philosophy Department at the University of Houston has 10 tenured and tenure-track faculty whose interests span the discipline. The Department’s terminal MA program has long been ranked among the top such programs in philosophy in the US. We offer an undergraduate major and minor, and contribute substantially to the teaching of the University’s core curriculum. Responsibilities include teaching 2 courses per semester (with TA support for introductory courses) and normal service to the Department, College, and University. Salary Competitive.
