Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is recruiting for a four-year non-tenure track position in Philosophy, to begin in Fall 2023. The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active research agenda. Teaching experience is an asset. English is the language of instruction. The successful candidate will have a teaching-load of three courses per semester, with two preparations, as they will teach two sections per semester of AUC's freshman/sophomore level Philosophical Thinking course.

AOC: History of Philosophy and Introduction to Philosophy (the ability to successfully teach introductory, core-curriculum courses in Philosophical Thinking is essential).

Requirements:

Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
