| Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Lawrence University invites applications for a Lawrence Fellow in the Liberal Arts and Sciences to begin in September 2013. AOS: ethical theory (meta-ethics or normative ethics) or some area of applied ethics. Candidates should have competency to teach both.The capacity to contribute to other areas of the curriculum would be considered a strength. The initial appointment is for two years with a reduced teaching load (instead of the usual six courses per year, the fellow will teach three courses in the first year and four in the second) to provide time to pursue research and develop excellence in undergraduate teaching. Applicants should have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. prior to September 1, 2013 and no earlier than September 1, 2008. Please include a letter of application, CV, sample of writing, evidence of excellence in teaching, and letters of recommendation. The committee prefers that applications be submitted by April 2, 2013. |
