The College of Humanities and Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Philosophy on the tenure track with scholarly expertise in philosophy/ethics starting August 15, 2023. The successful candidate will teach in the undergraduate Hallmarks Program for General Education and support Honors courses within that program. The successful candidate will produce scholarship and teach general education ethics and philosophy courses in the the undergraduate Hallmarks Program for General Education and support Honors courses within that program. The standard teaching load is 9 credits per semester.
Candidate must have a research doctorate or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in philosophy or related field.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level. Experience teaching full-time at the University level is preferred. A record of strong scholarship in the candidate’s field(s) of expertise as well as demonstrated engagement in the pedagogy of active student learning is required. Candidates with experience working in an interdisciplinary setting are encouraged to apply.
