Lecturer (EXPIRED)

Northern Arizona University seeks to fill a lecturer position in philosophy, with a teaching load of 4 courses per semester at the undergraduate level. 

Minimum Qualifications:

M.A. in Philosophy, and

AOS: Philosophy of Religion & Ethics, and

1 year full-time teaching experience at university level with primary responsibility for instruction and course design; and

Teaching record includes at least one course with enrollment of 100 or more students in which instruction is primarily face-to-face (in-person).

The preferred candidate will be a teacher with a record of teaching excellence including demonstrated success teaching in a multicultural university with a high percentage of first-generation students.  The preferred candidate will have experience teaching three or more of the following: philosophy of religion, medieval philosophy, ethics, philosophies of the world, and health care ethics.  Further, the preferred candidate will possess the Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field or have made significant progress towards the Ph.D. in Philosophy or closely related field, and a record of philosophical contribution to a non-academic community. Finally, the preferred candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse students, staff and faculty.
