The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is searching for a non-tenure track, temporary one year assistant professor of philosophy, beginning August 2023, with the possibility of renewal. The teaching load is eight courses a year over two semesters (4/4).

The successful applicant must have a PhD in philosophy by August 2023 and demonstrated excellence in teaching beginning courses in philosophy. The new hire will be expected to teach introductory bioethics, among other courses. The ability to teach courses in history of philosophy will be an advantage. We encourage applications from members of historically disadvantaged groups.
