Assistant Professorship in Practical Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The University of Bern invites applications for an Assistant Professorship in Practical Philosophy with an emphasis on Political Philosophy. The appointment will be for four years with the possibility of a two year extension. Applicants should work in the analytical tradition, and should have specialist knowledge in Political Philosophy and also in one of the following: the Philosophy of Economics or Practical Philosophy or Applied Ethics or the Ethics of Public Administration. The successful applicant will be expected to act as Advisor to students on the MA PLEP (Political, Legal, and Economic Philosophy) as well as MA students working in Political Philosophy. He or she will also be required to teach in German in the BA and MA Programmes, as well as in English in the PLEP Programme.
Applicants should have their Habilitation or an equivalent qualification, or be working on a Habilitation project at an advanced stage.
Applications are particularly welcome from women, who are under-represented in academic posts in Berne.
