Assistant Professor in Philosophy, School of Sciences and Humanities (EXPIRED)

Nazarbayev University was launched in 2010 as a premier national and regional university, partnered with internationally-recognized names in higher education. Admission to NU is highly competitive and the students are among the most academically gifted in Kazakhstan. Job Description

The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies in the School of Sciences and Humanities at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Philosophy. AOS and AOC are open, but we are especially interested in someone who can teach courses in Chinese or Asian philosophy. Successful candidates may be required to contribute to a team-taught introductory Ethics course. The position is available from August 2023. The contract is for a period of three years and is renewable upon positive review.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have been awarded a PhD in philosophy or a related discipline by the start date in August 2023 and will be able to demonstrate potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service. The teaching load is 2+2 with TA support for large classes.
