  • is an experienced, dedicated, and effective supervisor of PhD researchers, postdocs, and/or junior colleagues;
  • is not only an experienced and effective teacher but also has a demonstrable ability and affinity for developing and coordinating educational initiatives that integrate research into teaching in interdisciplinary and innovative ways;
  • administrative experience, as well as demonstrably strong communication and leadership skills;
  • has an open attitude and is able to switch easily within multidisciplinary and interprofessional teams;
  • is interested in team teaching and team science to address social issues.

The candidate appointed to this position will be expected, in due course, to be able to teach in Dutch and English. International candidates will be helped to acquire Dutch language skills in the first two years of their appointment.

Candidates who apply for this position but who are deemed not to meet the criteria for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor will automatically be considered for the concurrently open job vacancy: "Assistant Professor of Ethics or Political Philosophy of Technology”. In such cases, the selection committee will contact candidates to ascertain whether they wish to be considered for that position.
