Job description

The Philosophy Department in the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of assistant professor with AOS: Philosophy of Race and LatinX Philosophy and AOC: Social Philosophy and Political Philosophy. The position begins August 2023.

The normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty is 2-2 and consists of undergraduate and graduate courses. In addition, the position involves mentoring doctoral students, engagement in the usual scholarly and academic professional duties, as well as undertaking departmental, college-level, and university-level service. Requirements for the position include a PhD or the foreign equivalent in philosophy or a related field as well as the potential to publish in top-tier journals in philosophy.
