Job Summary:

The Philosophy department invites applications for a one-year Limited Term Appointment (LTA) for the 2023-2024 academic year. The successful applicant will be expected to teach PHIL 100: Critical Thinking and a combination of courses for a complete course load of seven sections. The courses may include PHIL 120: Knowledge & Reality, PHIL 300: Symbolic Logic in Context, PHIL 352: History of Analytic Philosophy.

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components. Regular attendance at department meetings, input to departmental discussions, and service related to student recruiting and mentoring is expected.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have a PhD in Philosophy, or evidence of completion by the time the appointment commences. In addition, evidence of successful teaching experience is required.
