| Job description |
The Department of Philosophy invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year limited-term appointment in Philosophy. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer and will commence September 1, 2013 and end August 31, 2014. Candidates with a PhD are strongly preferred, but ABDs may also be considered. Previous experience in teaching at the undergraduate level is essential, and evidence of commitment to teaching and excellent teaching performance must be supplied. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the equivalent of three and a half full courses (7 semester long courses) at the undergraduate level, six during the academic year and one in the summer. Ability to teach courses in applied ethics is essential; we also have an interest in candidates who can teach courses in Ancient Philosophy. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
