Job description

Trinity Business School within Trinity College Dublin is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Business Ethics for twenty-four months commencing on the 1st of September 2023.

The Teaching Fellow will be expected to teach the undergraduate modules “Fundamentals in Philosophy, Ethics and Social Science” and “Business Ethics” within the Global Business programme, though more may be required at the direction of the Head of School (at a maximum of 12 hours per week).

Appointment will be made on the Teaching Fellow scale (€37,960- €49,151 per annum) at a point in line with Government Pay Policy.

The post is a full-time position to cover the teaching of the PI of the ERC funded "Corporate Moral Progress" for two years. The post is not associated with the grant, and the only expectations of the post involve teaching. But there will be opportunities to collaborate with the project or with the broader philosophical community within Trinity or Ireland, if desired.

The Teaching Fellow will have a doctorate (by the time of appointment) relevant for teaching courses in business ethics, general ethics, and political philosophy. They will have a sufficiently broad knowledge of both ethics and business to teach ethics modules relevant for business students, and an ability to demonstrate the necessity of ethics to business.

The Teaching Fellow will have a track-record of engaging undergraduate teaching, demonstrated at least through previous teaching evaluations. Applicants with research experience directly in business ethics and an enthusiasm for business ethics pedagogy are particularly welcome.
