Full time adjunct (EXPIRED)

The Department of Classics, Philosophy, and Religion at the University of Mary Washington invites applications for a full-time philosophy position for fall 2023. Although the initial position is for one semester only, there is a possibility for renewal for spring 2024. All courses meet Tuesday through Thursday. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses (three preparations) beginning in late August: Introductory Logic (two sections), Ancient Philosophy, and Medieval Philosophy. The area of specialization (AOS) should be in the History of Philosophy, preferably in Ancient Greek Philosophy. If renewed for spring semester, competency (AOC) in Early Modern European Philosophy would be important; there might also be an opportunity in spring for teaching, depending on AOC, a course in Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, Phenomenology, Contemplative Studies, Advanced Logic, or Philosophy of Language.
