Position Type: Faculty Fellow position with benefits package Salary: $50,000 plus benefits The Hoffberger Center for Ethical Engagement at The University of Baltimore (USM) invites applications for the position of Hoffberger Faculty Fellow in Ethics – a lecturer (non-tenure track) and administrative position to begin on or about August 15 through the end of May, 2024. Up to $2000 additional funding is available for summer work related to Fall preparations. All positions at The University of Baltimore are subject to budgetary approval. The Hoffberger Fellow will be responsible for teaching eight courses during AY23-24: six IDIS 302 sections of “Ethical Issues in Business and Society” and two philosophy courses, to be determined. IDIS 302 is an upper-level University-wide ethics course for delivering a distinctive UBalt experience. Courses are both in-person and hybrid. The position requires a regular on-campus presence. Responsibilities also include participating in the programming of the Hoffberger Center, organizing a talk on the candidate’s research, leading an IDIS 302 cohort, and actively contributing to the life of the undergraduate Program in Philosophy, Law, and Ethics. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and a demonstrated ability to instruct courses in ethics. AOC open. This Faculty Fellow position is ideal for postdoc or advanced ABD candidates or early career candidates. The University of Baltimore, a member of the University System of Maryland (USM), is a Minority Serving Institution (Predominantly Black Institution—PBI) that serves a diverse urban community with an emphasis on “Knowledge that Works.” The Hoffberger Faculty Fellow in Ethics supports ethical engagement at the University, a fundamental mission of The University of Baltimore (http://www.ubalt.edu/about-ub/ub-strategic-plan.cfm).
