Job description

The Department of Philosophy is searching for multiple full-time, benefit-eligible, non-tenure track Lecturers. These positions are renewable on a year-to-year basis contingent upon effective performance, departmental needs, and continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph. D. in Philosophy in hand by start of contract, minimum 1 year full-time teaching experience in philosophy at university level with primary responsibility for course design, instruction, and assessment of students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred candidates will possess a demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy at the undergraduate level. In addition to standard introductory level courses in philosophy, the department has need of instructional excellence in areas of health care ethics, environmental ethics, philosophy of mind, epistemology. Also preferred are candidates with a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse students, staff and faculty.
