Visiting Assistant Professor - Philosophy and Religion Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy and Religion for the 2023-2024 academic year, beginning in August 2023. We are seeking someone to complement our existing faculty strengths and interests which include critical animal theory, political philosophy, environmental philosophy, Chinese and Islamic studies, feminist theory, and contemporary spirituality. Candidates will have areas of competence or specialization enabling them to teach some combination of the following classes: Philosophy of Science, Introduction to Philosophy and Religion, and a course in Gender, Race and Class, with preference given to candidates able to teach all three. o Teaching 6 courses and 2 seminars in Philosophy and Religion, distributed across four 7-week terms.
Qualifications:
o Ph.D. in Philosophy is preferred; terminal degree in a relevant field considered
o A track record of successful classroom teaching at the university level
