Job description
Responsibilities

The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley (Menasha, WI) is searching for a Philosophy Lecturer to teach one course in the fall and one or two courses in the spring. Lecturers prepare course syllabi, teach courses, and hold office hours for students. The fall contract begins August 26. Fall classes start September 3 with final exams December 16-20. Spring contract begins January 11. Spring classes start January 27 with final exams May 16-20.

Fall 2013

PHI 244 - Environmental Ethics (20% Appointment)
MW 5:00 - 6:15 PM

Course description: Philosophical examination of both traditional and recent concepts and values which structure human attitudes towards the natural environment.

Spring 2014

PHI 202 - Feminist Philosophy (20% Appointment) 
MW 3:30 - 4:45 PM (can be adjusted to meet instructor's availability)

Course description: (PHI 202 and WOM 202 are the same course.) An introduction to feminist philosophies through a study and critique of traditional and feminist views about women, their lives, society, and knowledge, with particular attention to theories of women's oppression.

PHI 243 - Business Ethics (20% Appointment)
MW 5:00 - 6:16 PM (can be adjusted to meet instructor's availability)

Course description: (BUS 242 and PHI 243 are the same course.) Critical discussion of ethical reasoning and moral values in business and industry; includes relevant case studies and readings.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in philosophy is preferred, but Masters in a closely related field will be considered. Candidates for PHI 202 must also have graduate coursework, training, or experience in gender and women's studies. Previous post-secondary teaching experience is desirable.
