UNIVERSITY OF FORT HARE, DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY LECTURER (1 POST) The Department of Philosophy, University of Fort Hare, East London, has one academic vacancy at the rank of Lecturer. Requirements: A Master’s degree in Philosophy, (a Ph.D. in Philosophy, or evidence of progress towards it, will serve as a recommendation), with prior university teaching at undergraduate level, together with research experience, and a developing record of high-quality publications. Recommendations: Knowledge in Ethics, Epistemology, Ancient Greek Philosophy, Political philosophy or Philosophy of Mind. Interest in the South African Centre for Phenomenology, co-hosted by the Department. Key performance areas: Candidates are expected to lecture general philosophy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across both campuses (East London and Alice), conduct research for peer-reviewed publications, and assist with departmental administration.
