Mount Wachusett Community College is a Community College committed to fostering civic learning and community engagement in its educational offerings. A faculty member's workload shall consist of the following duties: instructional duties and non-instructional duties (i.e. office hours, college service, community service, and professional development)
Qualifications:
Master's degree in discipline is required, Doctorate preferred, with 3-5 years College teaching experience. Evidence of a commitment to classroom teaching and learning, and the demonstrated abilities to effectively use computer-aided instruction; advise students to meet their goals and ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population is essential. Demonstrated successful incorporation of civic living and community engagement in their courses preferred.
Responsibilities:
A Faculty member shall be responsible for such community service and professional development activities as mutually agreed by the President of the College or the President's designee and the faculty member. Consistent with the principles and standards of academic freedom and responsibilities, support the college's mission to infuse service learning and civic engagement into the classroom as applicable. Teaches courses, regardless of location or delivery method, as assigned by the Dean of School of Liberal Arts, Education, Humanities & Communications. Oversee General Studies and design capstone course.
