Job description |
The Philosophy Department at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized, applicants for a pool of part-time teaching appointments. We are specifically seeking a lecturer to cover 3-4 courses per semester during 2023-24. The teaching assignment will focus on 100-level GE courses, mostly in Critical Reasoning. The mission of the CSUDH Philosophy Department is to prepare majors and minors who are well-grounded in the history of Western thought and who are able to think for themselves both critically and analytically. The department offers a B.A. degree in philosophy. We believe that the study of philosophy is an integral part of a liberal arts education. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of cultural diversity and, through our course offerings and other instructionally related activities, address multicultural concerns. In addition to our commitment to the majors and minors in the program, we also take seriously our contributions to general education in the form of the critical thinking course which satisfies the critical reasoning basic skills requirement as well as the two introductions to philosophy that fulfill general education requirements in the Humanities.
