Graduate Teaching Scholarship (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at the University of York wishes to offer one (or possibly two) Graduate Teaching Scholarships to support students working towards a postgraduate research degree in the Department, providing teaching experience for those intending an academic career.

Any potential candidates who have not already applied to the Department’s postgraduate research programme must do so separately before the closing date for these scholarships (see: www.york.ac.uk/philosophy/postgraduates/)

Successful candidates will teach up to 6 hours a week of seminars and tutorials to first-year undergraduates during term-time, mark student work and assist in monitoring the academic progress of first-year students. Training will be provided.

The scholarship of £7,000 p.a. plus fee waiver at the home rate is available from 1 October 2013. Subject to satisfactory performance and academic progress scholarships last for up to three years, with an incremental increase in value each year.
