Located on a beautiful campus in Denver, the University of Denver (DU) is the oldest independent university in the Rocky Mountain region, which describes itself as a private university dedicated to the public good. DU enrolls over 14,000 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Philosophy at DU offers a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophy through a dual MA program. It also contributes to the Joint Doctoral Program in Religion that the University of Denver shares with the Iliff School of Theology. Position Summary The Department of Philosophy at the University of Denver invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective September 1, 2024. We wish to hire a colleague who will deepen the foundation of our commitment to the study of Ethics and Democracy, broadly construed. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive pedagogy. As part of the search, we will also prioritize consideration of scholars whose work engages historically underrepresented communities and traditions, further contributing to our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) through teaching, research, and service in our college and beyond.
