DU enrolls over 14,000 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Philosophy at DU offers a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophy through a dual MA program. It also contributes to the Joint Doctoral Program in Religion that the University of Denver shares with the Iliff School of Theology. The Department of Philosophy at the University of Denver invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective September 1, 2024. We wish to hire a colleague who will deepen the foundation of our commitment to the study of Ethics and Democracy, broadly construed. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive pedagogy. As part of the search, we will also prioritize consideration of scholars whose work engages historically underrepresented communities and traditions, further contributing to our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) through teaching, research, and service in our college and beyond. The position teaches five courses per year over three, ten-week quarters (Autumn, Winter, and Spring).

Salary Grade Number:
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
