The Faculty of HLS wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy (fixed term) with research and teaching experience in any area, and with the demonstrable capacity to cover the following teaching areas:

• Ethics (year 2)
• Ancient Philosophy (year 1)
• Hellenistic or Neo-Platonist Philosophy (year 2)
• Contemporary Continental Philosophy (year 3)
• Metaphysics (year 2)

You will be appointed from the 1st of September 2013 until the 31st August 2014. You are expected to have recent undergraduate teaching experience, and to have completed, or nearly completed, a PhD.

Key selection criteria:

You will have experience of:

• Extensive experience of teaching undergraduate philosophy in relevant areas of the curriculum
• Experience of running undergraduate philosophy modules
• Experience of working with a team of academics.

Your skills/knowledge will include:

• Subject knowledge in relevant areas of philosophy
• Proven teaching skills
• Proven administrative skills relevant to module leadership
• Good time management skills

You will have a relevant degree and it's desirable that you will have a PhD in philosophy.
