Assistant Professor of Core Analytic Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at Stanford University seeks applicants for an appointment in “core” areas, including Language, Mind, Metaphysics, and Epistemology (we draw your attention also to parallel searches in Ethics and in Logic). This is an entry-level, tenure-line search; the position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field by the time of employment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to lead a robust research program. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2024.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $116,041, for academic year 2024–25. 

Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
