The Department of Philosophy at Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date in August 2024. Salary competitive. Area of Specialization: Social/Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, or Normative Ethics. The successful candidate will be expected periodically to teach an undergraduate Philosophy of Human Rights course. The normal teaching load is four courses per year (2-2) on a semester system. Duties include research, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service. The Department of Philosophy is an active research department with a strong graduate program, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in Philosophy (or equivalent terminal degree) by the time of appointment; demonstrated potential in establishing a successful program of research and scholarship; demonstrated ability to teach and participate in our strong philosophy undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. programs.
