Assistant Professor of Philosophy (Tenure track) ART Philosophy Competition No. - A111051912 Closing Date - Dec 15, 2023 This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA). Location: Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton. This role is in person. Position Summary The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in the Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, or related areas, with competence in Artificial Intelligence or Computing Sciences. Diverse methodological and theoretical approaches welcome. The anticipated starting date for the position is July 1, 2024. Teaching: 4 courses per year, together with the usual non-teaching duties. Department and Faculty Summary The Department of Philosophy is a unit within the Faculty of Arts of the University of Alberta. It currently has 11 full-time academic faculty members, including one Canada Research Chair, one continuing academic teaching staff member, some 80 undergraduate majors and honors majors, and 25 graduate students.
