POSITION TITLE:  Contract Renewable Assistant Professor of Philosophy

COMPENSATION RANGE: 50,000.00 - 53,000.00 USD per year

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Faculty

Position Summary:

This position has a workload distribution of 80% teaching (4-4 teaching load) and 20% service. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings and participate in department, college, and/or community service activities. Minimum Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Philosophy is preferred. ABDs will be considered; appointment would be at the rank of a Contract Renewable Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) with a commensurate salary.

Preferred Requirements:

Preference will be given to applicants with a terminal degree in Philosophy and a willingness to develop teaching competence in the history of philosophy broadly construed and/or Philosophy of Science. We prefer the potential to develop competence in Non-Western Philosophy (including Latin American or Latinx Philosophy), or Applied Ethics (including Environmental Ethics and Data Ethics) and teaching competence in formal logic. We have a broad need for teaching introductory courses. Interest and dedication to teaching students from diverse backgrounds is strongly preferred.

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
