Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks to hire a Lecturer in Philosophy. This is a renewable, nine-month, non-tenure track position for the 2024-25 academic year, beginning August 2024.

Primary responsibilities for this position will be teaching introductory-level classes in the department. The load is four courses per semester, with the possible option of additional teaching in the summer. Both face-to-face and online formats will be expected in accordance with the needs of the department. Remote teaching is not an option.  PhD in Philosophy at time of application is required.  AOS and AOC are open, but ability to teach Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, Introduction to Logic, Critical Reasoning, and Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence are required.

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated record of successful teaching in courses listed above, and a demonstrated record of successful teaching n both face-to-face and online formats.
