Postdoctoral Research Associate

PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, Princeton, NJ.  The Department of Philosophy invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Associates. We are hiring postdoctoral associates for Lara Buchak and Andrew Chignell’s research project Philosophy, Religion, and Existential Commitment in Society (PRECIS), part of the Princeton Project in Philosophy of Religion (https://www.ppprinceton.org/). The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Philosophy or Religion or related fields and be prepared to do research on topics related to the project. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year pending satisfactory performance.  Appointments will be made to the rank of Postdoctoral Research Associate; when teaching, the candidate will hold the secondary rank of Lecturer. Candidates will not be asked to teach more than one course per semester.

Qualifications:  By August 1, 2024, the successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religion or related fields and applicants should not have more than three years of postdoctoral experience by the appointment date.  The department welcomes applications from scholars specializing in any area of philosophy.
